From March 7th to 11th , 2024, iMTM third-year students under a class MI62434 Studies on Hospitality Business travelled to Phatthalung for an excursion. The purpose of the trip is to explore the community-based tourism in second-tier city of Thailand. This also includes the exploring of the local cultures in a smaller city that is rich in its heritage. The purpose of the trip also includes to widen up the understanding of the industry, especially in different contexts outside of Bangkok. The students travelled by a 15-hour sleeping train, visiting local community-based business such as Varni Craft, participating in a local activity such as Ren-Ta-On, Nan Mod Daeng river rafting, visiting one of the largest bird sanctuaries in Southeast Asia at Talay Noi, exploring the local lives of Talay Noi water buffaloes (Global Important Agricultural Heritage by UNESCO), and enjoying a boat ride under a cave at Khao Chai Son. As a part of the class and a cultural trip provided by the program, the students have participated in knowledge outside of classroom as well as a lecture. This is a part of learning the program offers to the students with a strong vision of making our students the future inno-preneur.
