Edsy is a Thai startup that has received global recognition through prestigious awards such as Forbes Under 30, MIT-Solve Global Challenge, and the Global EdTech Startups Awards. They have developed AI tools, including the AI English Coach and AI Speaking Assessment, to evaluate and enhance English communication skills for Thais. Using Generative AI and Machine Learning models developed at Carnegie Mellon University’s AI lab, our tools are localized specifically for Thai learners through research in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University. Currently, more than 30,000 users are benefiting from our innovations.
The AI English Coach is an all-in-one tool designed to help learners practice and improve their English communication skills. Acting as a personal coach, the AI corrects grammar, refines sentence structure for fluency, teaches vocabulary, and adjusts pronunciation for accuracy. With Edsy’s technological advantages, the AI English Coach is offered at a scalable price, making it suitable for organizations looking to upskill their employees and elevate their capabilities to an international level.
The AI Speaking Assessment is an Automated Speech Evaluation (ASE) tool, similar to TOEFL, that evaluates English speaking skills with precision. The assessment results align with international standards like “CEFR” and are comparable to other standards such as IELTS and Cambridge English. The AI Speaking Assessment is ideal for both talent acquisition, to evaluate job applicants’ English proficiency, and for organizational use in assessing employee skills as part of Learning & Development plans.
